Peer Review Process

The IJoAT employs single blind review process ensuring that only original work is published. The referees play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of journal and all manuscripts are reviewed.

1.      First evaluation of the manuscript is performed by the editor-in-chief. A manuscript in exceptional cases may be accepted or rejected at this stage only. The exceptional reasons for acceptance could be highly innovative work directly leading to the benefit of human society whereas the rejection could be due to non-original work, serious technical errors or poor usage of English language. The authors whose manuscripts are rejected at this stage are informed within 10 days of receipt. Manuscript meeting the minimum criteria is forwarded to concerned editor.

2.      The editor then forwards the manuscript to three experts of the similar field for review. The database of referees is constantly being updated. The authors are also optionally asked to recommend three reviewers , however the final decision of selecting a reviewer is left to editor.

3.      Reviewers are requested to evaluate the manuscript within a period of 30 days on the basis of following criteria:

·         The work is original

·         Relevance and usefulness

·         Technical Correctness

·         Language Usage

·         Length of paper

·         Presentation and Interpretation of Results

Out of three referees, two must recommend the work for potential publication else the manuscript is simply rejected. The reviewer convinces the editor to accept, reject or revise the manuscript with minor revisions.

4.      The editor's decision is final and is forwarded to the author with the recommendations/comments by the reviewers.
